Adani Group companies have seen tremendous ups and downs since the Hindenburg Research report came out.
After the research report of American short seller Hindenburg on Adani Group companies, there has been tremendous upheaval in Adani’s shares. After the report became public, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court demanding that it be investigated whether Hindenburg Research’s report about Adani Group companies is correct or not. Now the Supreme Court has agreed to hear this petition. The court will decide on February 10 whether the Hindenburg report will be probed or not.
The Hindenburg Research report has made several serious allegations against Gautam Adani’s companies. Advocate Vishal Tiwari had filed a petition in the Supreme Court.
Advocate Tiwari, who filed the petition, told a bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud that the matter should be heard immediately. Justices PS Narasimha and JB Pardiwala are also included in this bench. Advocate has demanded in his petition that the Supreme Court should direct the Central Government to constitute a committee under the chairmanship of a retired judge of the Supreme Court. And this committee should investigate this matter.
Advocate Tiwari has also told the bench that another petition has also been listed for hearing on 10 February. He has requested the bench to hear his petition along with another petition on Friday.
Advocate Tiwari has filed a petition in the public interest. He has also demanded the setting up of a special committee to probe loans disbursed to big companies above Rs 500 crore.
