Rishabh Pant on horrific car accident – ‘I felt that my time was over’
There is a saying that no matter what happens if the plaintiff wishes bad, only what God allows happens. This applies exactly to Rishabh Pant. For the first time, Rishabh Pant has spoken openly about the horrific car accident and has bared his heart’s feelings.
Rishabh Pant said, “that at that time it felt as if ‘his time in this world’ was over.”
Rishabh Pant said in an interview with Star Sports, ‘For the first time in my life I felt that my time in this world is over. I knew about the wounds, but I was lucky because it could have been worse.
‘I felt like someone had saved me. I asked the doctor how long it would take for me to recover. He said it would take 16 to 18 months. I knew I had to work hard to shorten this recovery time.

This happened in December 2022, when Pant was going from Delhi to his home in Roorkee when his car collided with the divider in the middle of the road. Pant said he thought he was almost going to die after his Mercedes car caught fire after hitting the divider.
I was scared at that time. The bone of my right knee had dislocated and was causing a lot of pain. I asked if there was anyone nearby who could help me put my leg back in place. He helped me get my knee in the right place.
Two men, Rajat Kumar and Nishu Kumar, took Pant out of his SUV. The car later caught fire. Pant said- felt such fear for the first time in my life. I was aware of the injury at the time of the accident, but I was lucky because it could have been more serious.
Pant further said, “I never thought that I would enjoy brushing my teeth so much. When I went to take a bath, I did not want to get out of the bathtub. I found happiness in these small things because I was lucky. That I got a second life. Not everyone is lucky enough to get a second life.”
Pant said that he remained bedridden for about a month and was unable to do normal things.
Friends, let us tell you, that Pant’s initial treatment was done in Dehradun, after which he was taken by plane to Mumbai where BCCI treated him as a specialist. And now he is making a comeback in IPL.
