PVC Aadhaar Card Fees Increased: Now ₹75 to Order From Home
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has officially increased the service charge for ordering a PVC Aadhaar card — the durable, wallet-friendly plastic version of your Aadhaar identity document — from ₹50 to ₹75 with effect from January 1, 2026. This change applies to requests made through official UIDAI channels such as the myAadhaar portal and the mAadhaar mobile app.
What’s Changed?
- New Fee: ₹75 (inclusive of taxes and delivery charges).
- Old Fee: ₹50 (charged until Dec 31, 2025).
- Effective Date: January 1, 2026.
- How to Order: Online via the myAadhaar website or the mAadhaar app — no need to visit an Aadhaar centre.
This is the first fee revision since the PVC Aadhaar card service was launched in 2020, reflecting increased costs for materials, printing, secure delivery logistics, and administrative operations.
What Is a PVC Aadhaar Card?
A PVC Aadhaar card is a credit-card-sized, durable plastic Aadhaar card that includes your name, date of birth, gender, Aadhaar number, photo, and a secure QR code for verification. It holds the same legal validity as the traditional paper Aadhaar letter and the digital e-Aadhaar.
Its compact size and enhanced durability make it a popular choice for everyday use, especially for people who carry Aadhaar for KYC, identification, travel, banking, and other official purposes.
How to Order Your PVC Aadhaar Card Online
Here’s how you can order the card from home:
- Visit the Official Portal: Go to myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in or open the mAadhaar app.
- Enter Aadhaar Details: Provide your Aadhaar number, VID, or enrolment number.
- Verify With OTP: An OTP is sent to your registered mobile number — enter it to proceed.
- Review & Pay: Make the ₹75 payment online using UPI/card/netbanking.
- Track Delivery: You’ll receive a service request number to track your card’s journey.
Once processed, the printed PVC Aadhaar card is dispatched via India Post Speed Post, generally within five working days, though actual delivery time can vary by location.
Why the PVC Aadhaar Card Fees Hike?
According to UIDAI, the fee increase is driven by rising operational costs — including printing materials, secure delivery, and production logistics — and is intended to ensure continued quality service.
Though the hike is modest, it affects millions of Aadhaar holders who choose the PVC card for everyday identification needs.
