Now after drinking tea like an ice cream cone, you can also eat Kulhad

Millet Kulhads: Lakhs of people eat ice cream from the cone. Later that cone is eaten. In Deoria, Uttar Pradesh too, a group of farmers has made an ax out of millet. You can drink tea from this kulhad. Later you can eat this kulhad. The demand for these axes is increasing rapidly.

Millet Kulhads: There are millions of people who chew the cone after eating ice cream from the cone. Similarly, a group of farmers from Deoria in Uttar Pradesh has made ‘kulhads’ out of millet. It can be used for drinking tea and eaten as a snack. Interestingly, these ‘Kulhads’ have come at a time when the year 2023 has been declared by the United Nations (UN) as the International Year of Millets after India’s proposal in 2019.

In the Magh Mela going on in Prayagraj, these nutritious kulhads made from coarse grains of ragi and maize have been named ‘Chai peo aur kulhad khao’. Ankit Rai, a member of the group, said that the demand for these ‘kulhads’ is increasing manifold in rural and urban areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Ankit further said that to promote the benefits of millet, we made kulhads made of millet about two years ago. We have a special kind of mold. In 24 cups can be made at once. In the initial phase, we associated with tea vendors in small villages of eastern Uttar Pradesh including Deoria, Gorakhpur, Siddharth Nagar, and Kushinagar. Now, the demand for these Kulhads is increasing till Prayagraj, Varanasi, Lucknow, and other districts. Talking about the cost of these kulhads, Ankit says that it costs Rs 5 to make such kulhads. At the same time, by filling tea in it, you can sell it for 10 rupees. Kulhads are eco-friendly.

The market has been a staple of food

Ankit further told that the Kulhad made from the market does not generate any kind of waste and he is following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s India Swachh Mission. Millet has been a staple of our diet since ancient times. It is considered very beneficial for health. Also very good for the environment.
