India has taken major action against China. 232 Chinese apps have been banned in India. This includes 138 betting apps from China and 94 lending apps. All these apps have been banned in India. According to media reports, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) had received instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs to ban these apps. It is being said that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has started the process of blocking the apps.
According to reports, these apps are the brainchild of Chinese citizens. Who hired Indians? Through loan-giving apps, people are lured to give money at a low rate. Then after taking the loan, they make recovery by increasing the interest up to 3,000 percent. When people could not pay the interest, the people working on these apps started harassing the people in debt.
Actually, the Union Home Ministry started investigating 28 Chinese loan-giving apps 6 months ago. The investigation found that 94 such apps are present on the e-store. It is working through any other third-party link. They are trapping people on a large scale by giving them loans. These apps can also be misused as tools of espionage and propaganda. Apart from this, the security of the data of Indian citizens can also be at risk. The report said that states like Telangana, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh as well as central intelligence agencies had asked the Union Home Ministry to take action against these apps.
Chinese app – accused of espionage
The investigation team found that these apps can be turned into spying tools by abusing server-side security. The reason for this is that these apps have access to important data about Indians. Access to such data can be used for mass surveillance. Almost all the banned apps were created by Chinese citizens. These people hired Indians for this work. He was entrusted with the responsibility of doing this work.
