India’s first water metro: The country will get its first water metro today i.e. on Tuesday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the first water metro to the country on 25 April 2023.

This water metro will provide economical and safe travel to the people.

The water metro will connect Kochi and its 10 surrounding islands. The service starting between Kochi and ten nearby islands is considered very useful for such cities, where there are many obstacles in the traditional metro rail.

The Kochi water metro will connect 10 islands. In the initial phase, this water metro will cover a distance of 75 kilometers.

Water metro service will be available every 15 minutes

People will get the metro for movement every 15 minutes. This includes a total of 78 electric boats. People will get this facility for 12 hours. Right now there are 23 boats and 14 terminals in the beginning. At the same time, 50 to 100 passengers can sit in each metro.

This India’s first Water Metro is an of its kind venture of Kochi Water Metro Limited and Kochi Metro Rail Limited.

The first route of first Water Metro will be opened to the public from 7 am on April 26, which will start from High Court-Vypin.

Whereas the second route Water Metro will open to the public from 7 am on April 27 from Vyttila-Kakkanad.

How much will the fare of the water metro

People will be charged a fare of Rs 20 for a one-time journey. Let us tell you that in less than 20 minutes from the Water Metro, it will be possible to reach Vypin from the High Court. And the approximate travel time from Vyttila to Kakkanad is around 25 minutes.

This service will continue from 7 am to 8 pm.
